Things You Want To Know About Edibles Along With Great Recipe

Mary Jane’s Pot Shop has one of the largest selections of edibles in Canada. Located 30 minutes from downtown Montreal and opened to the public, Mary Jane’s is a hidden gem when it comes to everything cannabis.

Edibles are a popular way to consume cannabis, as they provide a discreet and long-lasting high that can be enjoyed without the need for smoking. Edibles with THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) come in many different forms, including gummies, chocolates, and baked
goods. In this blog, we’ll focus on one of the most classic THC-infused treats: weed brownies.

Before we get into the recipe, it’s important to note that consuming edibles can be very different from smoking cannabis. When you smoke, the effects are usually felt almost immediately, while with edibles, it can take up to an hour or more to feel the effects.
It’s also important to be aware of dosing – it’s easy to accidentally eat too much and end up feeling uncomfortable or even anxious. Start with a low dose and wait a few hours before deciding to consume more.

Now, onto the recipe! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 oz (7g) finely ground cannabis
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the ground cannabis and stir to combine.
  3. Cook the cannabis and butter mixture over low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to let the mixture boil, as this can degrade the THC.
  4. While the cannabis and butter mixture is cooking, prepare the rest of the brownie batter. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. In a separate large bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the cocoa powder and stir until smooth.
  6. Once the cannabis and butter mixture has finished cooking, strain it through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any plant matter.
  7. Add the cannabis-infused butter to the egg and sugar mixture and stir until well combined.
  8.  Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg and sugar mixture, stirring until the batter is smooth.
  9. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8 inch baking dish.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting and serving. Enjoy responsibly!

While baking weed brownies can be a fun and delicious way to consume cannabis, it’s important to always be mindful of dosing and to consume responsibly. Happy baking!
